I Think I Found Out A Way For You To Pick Me Up From The Airport

Earlier this week, when we discussed my impending arrival into town, you mentioned you could not pick me up because you had two different things going on. Well, since then, I’ve done some thinking, and I believe I’ve found a solution. I’ve found a way for you to pick me up from the airport.

The fact is, I land at 8:07 p.m. in Terminal D. You said you have to be at Kevin’s barbecue starting around 6 p.m. If you leave the barbecue at 7:32, you would get to the airport at 8:17, approximately right as I would be exiting the terminal. That gives you over an hour and a half at the barbecue, which is more than enough time to eat a few hamburgers, talk to some people, and have fun, and still pick me up on your way home.

Of course, I’m not unreasonable. If you want more time at the barbecue, I’d be happy to take the airport shuttle to Terminal B, which is easier to pick up people at. This way, you could leave Kevin’s as late as 7:40 (though given traffic, you would want to leave earlier). We’re both making sacrifices, but I know this can work. You can give me a ride from the airport. We can do this.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But I have to go to Laura’s birthday party at 9.” I’ve got that covered too: We could go straight to Laura’s from the airport and be there just slightly late. But as you know, I’m not the biggest Laura fan, so you could also drive me back to my place and get to Laura’s party by as early as 10:16.

We’re both making sacrifices, but I know this can work.

So, we’ll leave Terminal D (or Terminal B, if you want me to take that shuttle, which, again, I’m totally down to do) around 8:19, and head straight for Route 495. “That is out of the way,” you’ll say. But this is why my plan is brilliant: In my experience, there are almost never cops on 495, so you can average 85 or 90 miles per hour all the way back to my apartment. Additionally, my favorite Thai place is right off 495, which I’ve factored in us stopping at because I’ll definitely be hungry from my trip. As soon as we unload all my stuff, you’ll be off to Laura’s! The way I see it, this works for both parties, and it will certainly save me money on a cab ride.

Anyway, I’ll see you tonight. Aruba is awesome, by the way. So relaxing and amazing here. See you soon!
