Shameful: Barack Obama Skipped My Father’s Funeral To Go Golfing

It’s time we face it: President Obama is an embarrassment. In the course of his administration, he has repeatedly failed to offer direction during our nation’s times of hardship, and he consistently puts his own interests in front of those of Americans. Which is why I find it absolutely shameful that, among his latest insults to the American people, Barack Obama skipped my father’s funeral to go golfing.

My dad was a good person. He worked as an insurance broker every day for over 25 years and was a proud parent to three adult sons. But where was the president when we most needed his strength and leadership? Apparently, the commander-in-chief thought it more important to spend his Sunday afternoon playing 18 holes at the Mink Meadows Golf Club on Martha’s Vineyard. Let me tell you, it’s a sad day for the entire country when the president of the United States can’t be bothered to interrupt his tee time to come pay respects to my father.

Even once the funeral was under way, I kept expecting Obama to show up. We saved a chair for him in the front row with a sign that read: “Reserved for Barack Obama, President of the United States.” Everyone was crying, and meanwhile Barack Obama was having one of the best rounds of his life. He finished four over par.

Frankly, Obama’s absence at this highly emotional event is unacceptable. The commander-in-chief was so preoccupied with hitting the links that he couldn’t even be bothered to send a high-ranking cabinet member in his place. I’m shocked that he could be so callous.

As my father’s casket was being lowered into the ground, my mother turned to me and asked, “Where is Obama?” I didn’t know what to say.

So, the next time you find yourself making excuses for our president, remember this: Obama cynically decided to spend his afternoon polishing his golf swing instead of attending my father’s funeral. Is this really the kind of man we want in charge of our country?
